Dr Harry Smith graduated from Berlin University in 1991. Following graduation, he spent his first year as a Vocational Dental Practitioner with Dr Lutz Brussig in the district of Hohenschoenhausen in East Berlin.


He then spent the next three years as an assistant dentist with Dr Sabine Kohlhoff in Berlin- Spandau. He set up and ran his own practice 1995-2008 in Berlin-Tiergarten, before moving to Edinburgh in 2008.

Over time, Harry has gathered considerable experience in private dentistry. His particular areas of clinical expertise are comprehensive restorative cases, combining his knowledge of various dental treatments, from dental prosthetics to dental implants, in order to restore patients’ smile and confidence.

Harry started his practical experience with Implants after being awarded Diploma in Dental Implants 1999 by the Philip-Pfaff-Institute Berlin.

Between 2001and 2003 he took part in a two year post graduate course in dental implants and was awarded a Certificate in Dental Implantology by the German Association of Dental Implantology (DGI) in Göttingen Germany 2003.

Harry has graduated Steinbeis University Berlin with two Master of Science Degrees: Dental Implantology in 2007 and Implant Periodontology in 2017.

Harry is amongst a few dentists in Scotland trained in Telescopic Dentistry. This German invention is based on a high precision appliance attached to teeth and/ or dental implants for patients with compromised dentition.

Harry is an active member of the German Association of Dental Implantology (DGI) and the ITI International Team for Implantology.

In his spare time, you can find him walking his dog Dino in Cramond or Cammo Estate, or in his back yard, as he loves gardening. Harry is an excellent trip planner, organizing weekends away and sightseeing events for not only his friends, but also his dental team
